GAI Consultants has a career-building opportunity for an Engineer 3 within our Power Business Unit's Civil and Environmental Engineering Business Sector. GAI is an established and growing multi-discipline engineering firm with tremendous growth opportunities in the Pittsburgh, PA region. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their related experience to develop professionally and grow in today's global environment. This position will be based out of GAI's Pittsburgh, PA, Canton, OH, or the Indianapolis, IN office locations. This position is eligible for GAI's flexible Hybrid workplace place / Telework Policy and a Sign-on Bonus. GAI's Power Business Unit focuses on developing and supporting Energy, Institutional, Industrial, and Manufacturing clients.
Job Duties :
- Plans, designs, and facilitates civil engineer project design tasks such as site grading and drainage design; access road design; erosion and sediment pollution control design; stormwater management design; report preparation; and permitting.
- Performs technical and feasibility studies.
- Collaborates with other professionals and discusses requirements with team members.
- Uses computer programs to develop detailed designs.
- Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements.
- Performs work with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Handles complex issues and refers only the most complex issues to more experienced staff.
- Strong working knowledge of civil engineering design tasks and a positive attitude.
- Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules.
- Performs moderate to complex civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience.
- Mentor, guide and check the work of less experienced staff.
- Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Adhere to the safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients.
- Travel to other offices / meet with clients / attend project-specific meetings (occasional local / regional travel that is expected to be 5%-10% of the time).

Bachelors of Civil Engineering (required)
Experience
Experience with GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HY-8, Pondpack, Hydraflow, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other related engineering software. (required)
Proficiency in Civil Site Design, NPDES Permitting requirements and construction practices. (required)
8 years : Experience with planning, designing, and facilitating civil engineer project design tasks. (required)
