What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician II position at Gail Borden Public Library?
Gail Borden Public Library has an immediate opening for a full-time Maintenance Technician. This position requires a strong background in building, grounds, electrical, plumbing and equipment, operations, and maintenance. The incumbent will perform and assist staff and vendors with the overall monitoring, upkeep, and maintenance of all library facilities and grounds.
The mix of duties for this position includes, but is not limited to:
- Completes special projects including building repairs, small-scale construction projects and other tasks essential to the smooth operation of all library locations.
- Performs routine and scheduled general maintenance activities, including but not limited to, light bulb replacement, ceiling tile replacement, electrical, plumbing, drywall, and painting.
- Performs general maintenance duties as required to keep building and grounds clean, safe, and orderly.
- Sets up tables, chairs, and other required items for library programs and events, as per specifications.
- Maintains collaborative working relations with staff, customers, and outside organizations to provide a safe and welcoming library environment.
Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of experience in this area is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good people skills to be able to collaborate effectively with other Maintenance staff and others throughout the library.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
