Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Desk Position
Location: Bloomington Eye Institute – Single Specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
Schedule: Monday – Thursday (No Holidays, Weekends, or On-Call)
Position Overview:
Join our team at Bloomington Eye Institute, we are a single-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center, as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) position. This primarily desk-based role ensures seamless patient preparation for surgery, working closely with the clinical team to complete pre-admission tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Notify patients of their surgical times two days prior to surgery.
• Ensure all pre-admission charts are completed at least four days before surgery.
• Confirm required preoperative documentation (physical exams, labs, EKGs, consent forms, etc.).
• Coordinate scheduling and arrival times for patients based on procedure type.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, and facilities (e.g., nursing homes) to gather medical information.
• Organize and distribute daily surgical schedules to the clinical team.
• Assist with anesthesia chart review and follow-up on required clearances.
• Support the clinical coordinator with staff scheduling and assignments when needed.
• Maintain accurate records, flag missing information, and follow up on outstanding documentation.

Qualifications:
• Active LPN license in Illinois
• Prior experience in pre-admission testing, scheduling, or surgical coordination preferred but not required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification preferred but not required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in a desk-based, administrative nursing role
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems is a plus

Pay: The starting range for this position is $23.50 - $27.28/hr. depending on skills, experience, and qualifications as well as market considerations. (posting updated 1/2/2025)
