We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Director, Claims Training to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of the learning strategy within Claims. This includes the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of training programs for employees within the Claims department.
What does a DIRECTOR, CLAIMS TRAINING do at GAINSCO?

- Support company initiatives and special projects.
- Coach, counsel, and train direct reports on all relevant position requirements.
- Drive employee engagement by creating a positive work environment where employees feel motivated, supported, and connected to the company’s mission and success.
- Manage staff through appropriate disciplinary actions, including employment terminations, in collaboration with HR.
- Identify and manage team staffing needs, prioritize and participate in recruitment activities, and manage the successful onboarding of new staff.
- Partner with Claims leadership to align the Claims training strategy with department and corporate objectives.
- Oversee the implementation of training programs that address skills and knowledge gaps among Claims personnel.
- Stay informed about organizational updates and changes to federal and state regulatory standards to ensure accuracy and compliance of Claims training programs.
- Maintain Claims Reference materials in the LMS for easy access by Claims personnel.
- Manage and update the Claims Career Path Information and Course material, Standard Operating Procedures manual, and state-specific Claims handling reference material.
- Oversee the day-to-day functionality of the Claims LMS, including assigning training content, monitoring learner progress, and generating reports related to training completion and effectiveness.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 7 years of related training experience with 2 years of Personal Automobile Insurance Claims training experience required.
- A minimum of 5 years of prior experience as a Supervisor is required.
- Prior experience handling claims in personal auto insurance is required.
- Experience hosting training and/or meetings with MS Teams and other communication platforms.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), including administering, tracking, and reporting training outcomes.
- Proven expertise in the development and design of internal training courses, including topic outlines, content decks, participant materials, and outcomes reports.
- Must have in-depth technical claims handling knowledge, including duties, responsibilities, and procedures.
- Ability to influence change in various claims practices.
- Inclusive and influential leadership through strong engagement and collaboration.
- Ability to gather and analyze information to evaluate results and choose the best solution to the problem.
- Highly effective communicator through verbal and written skills.
- Effective in the ability to lead team decisions and build team performance.
