Summary
The Vice President Finance will serve on the Financial leadership team as the senior most Financial executive in support of the HMS business unit with Gainwell. Develops strategy for and drives implementation of financial plans, policies, accounting practices and procedures based on a comprehensive financial analysis and understanding of the relationship between the information and business objectives. Provides expert financial / accounting perspective and serves as trusted advisor to senior executives. Oversees multiple financial functions in a major region or organization. Directs strategy for operations of the finance and accounting department, assuring activities are executed within highest standards. Drives financial models used in annual budgeting, forecasting and long range planning. Measures profitability and cost performance for business operations and recommends remedial actions to senior management for budget deviations.
Your role in our mission
- Drives strategy and oversees implementation of financial plans, policies, accounting practices and procedures to ensure financial and strategic goals are attained for the HMS business unit. Drives the annual budgeting process directing the preparation, approval, and administration of company budgets. Establishes financial controls to safeguard company assets.
- Provides an expert financial / accounting perspective and makes recommendations to senior executives with respect to financial opportunity and strategic fit with the company's objectives. Communicates broadly to help ensure overall coordination for cross-functional teams.
- Develops strategy to monitor budget performance of cost centers and recommends remedial actions to senior executives for budget deviations. Oversees profitability and cost performance for business operations. Identifies risks and opportunities to forecasted results of working capital requirements, cash flow, EBITDA. Oversees variance analysis of actual financial results to previous forecasts, budgets and prior periods. Drives financial modeling used in annual budgeting, forecasting and long range planning. Directs proactive research and analysis and proposes financial / business models to positively impact trends and business performance. Identifies cost saving and / or revenue enhancement opportunities.
- Designs, oversees the operations of the finance and accounting department. Sets standards and best practices for preparation of financial statements, AP / AR, cost accounting, government contract accounting, cash and credit administration and adherence to SOX requirements. Oversees internal audits ensuring integrity of financial reporting systems and coordination with external auditors.
- Drives process improvement, scaling finance infrastructure and operations, and building and developing a team of professionals. Establishes and communicates goals and objectives, defines methodologies, activities and tasks, and clearly describes roles and responsibilities for performing to personnel. Develops work breakdown structure. Oversees business activities to ensure a high standard of professional excellence is maintained among staff.
- Builds and maintains relationships with customers and key stakeholders. Influences decision-making and builds partnerships across the organization. Establishes and monitors implementation of short and long-term strategies to deliver services to customers within reasonable schedules and budgets.
