Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable CNC Programmer / Process Engineer with a minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss-style lathes. This role is responsible for programming, optimizing machining processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring production efficiency.
Our Grand Rapids facility operates with Esprit CAD/CAM software and features:
- (1) Citizen L20 Type 8
- (3) Citizen L20 Type 10s
- (2) Citizen L32 Type 12s
- (1) DMG Mori NLX
Key Responsibilities
- Program and set up Swiss CNC lathes using Esprit software.
- Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, cycle times, and quality.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and increase operational effectiveness.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds for complex components.
- Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime.
- Train and support machine operators, increasing their competency and knowledge to improve overall team effectiveness.
- Provide hands-on assistance to operators when needed, ensuring production runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure compliance with aerospace and medical industry standards.
- Minimum of three years of experience programming Swiss CNC lathes.
- Proficiency in Esprit CAD/CAM software.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining principles.
- Experience with aerospace and medical manufacturing requirements.
- A problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset and team-first attitude.
