General Information
Galaxie is a casual neighborhood restaurant inspired by the flavors of Mexico City and Oaxaca. We grind Oaxacan corn for tortillas, smoke locally sourced meats when available as well as feature local produce and Gulf fish/shellfish. We are looking for a restaurant team that is passionate about making great food, giving excellent service, and being a part of a workplace community that is fun, supportive, and engaged.
This position requires strong communication skills, organization, and an eagerness to constantly learn and improve. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team while interacting respectfully with coworkers, managers, and customers.

Performance Expectations (Essential Functions)
- Manage Front of House staff in their daily operations
- Hiring & Training
- Coaching / development
- Disciplinary / Firing
- Ensure that front of house operations are running smoothly and efficiently
- Effectively implement changes to service by creating systems and trainings
- Remedy any service and or guest problems that arise
- Communicate to a supervisor any expected gaps or needs in a timely and specific manner
- Organize or direct the organization of all front of house work spaces: server station, beverage station, walk-in beverage shelves, storage spaces, etc.
- Establish and maintain a culture of excellent service amongst the staff
- Ensure that every customer receives a high quality experience
- Maintain a pleasant and warm dining room atmosphere
- Front of House Scheduling
- Accounting for and adapting to shifts in business
- Work shifts as needed
- Get shifts covered as needed
- Performs all essential functions of Galaxie Front of House Staff, working floor shifts as necessary.
- Manage wine and beer selections accounting for seasonal shifts
- Direct menu transitions seasonally
- Produce training materials and host trainings for staff
- Encourage continued learning and sales motivation
- Inventory and purchase necessary items including alcohol, office supplies, paper goods, restaurant supplies and retail/grocery items
- Monitor and respond to customer and vendor inquiries via phone and email
- Coordinate catering requests and assist in the planning and execution of catered events
- Manage online presence including website, online ordering, delivery partners facebook, instagram, and online review platforms
- Interact with the community to facilitate donations to local organizations and non-profits
- Work with management team to:
- Work toward the vision of Galaxie and goals set in management meetings
- Work hard to foster the workplace community on a daily basis as well as through planning quarterly staff events
- Attend and contribute to weekly management meetings
- Identify areas of weakness in the restaurants and work to provide new ideas and solutions to address those areas
- Prepare for and perform quarterly performance review
Ideal Candidate
- At least 2 years of experience as a supervisor or manager in the retail and/or food service industry
- Confident presence when speaking in front of groups of people
- Strong computer skills
- Able to provide great service with enthusiasm & energy throughout scheduled shift
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Passion for excellent guest service and hospitality
- Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills

Compensation
- Pay/Benefits: This is a full-time (40-45hours/week), salaried position
- 40-50K
