Security & Door Staff – Galaxie Covington
Location: 815 Madison Ave, Covington, KY
Position Type: Part-time (Weekends 9pm-3:30am)
Reports To: General Manager & Operations Director
Galaxie Covington is a high-energy bar and restaurant known for its margaritas, Wakatakas, and dance-friendly atmosphere. We are looking for professional and customer-focused Security & Door personnel to ensure a welcoming, and organized entry experience while also handling cash transactions for ticketed events and monitoring guests within the venue to ensure safety for all patrons.
Responsibilities
- Verify IDs to ensure all guests meet the legal drinking age
- Enforce venue entry policies
- Perform bag checks for all guests that enter the building
- Collect and handle cash payments for ticketed events at the door and issue wristbands for event entry, maintaining accurate cash handling practices.
- Monitor guest behavior and proactively de-escalate conflicts
- Work closely with managers, bartenders, and staff to maintain a safe environment
- Respond to intoxicated or disorderly guests professionally
- Ensure exits, walkways, and emergency routes remain clear
- Assist with venue closing procedures, ensuring guests and staff members exit safely
- Assist in handling emergency situations, including medical incidents or evacuations
Requirements
- Previous security/door experience preferred but not required
- Must be 21 years old
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong conflict resolution, communication, and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, nightlife environment
- Must be reliable, professional, and punctual
- Experience in reliably handling cash transactions preferred
