Summary

As a Pre-Press Preparer at Galaxy Balloons, you will be an integral part of our graphic design team, ensuring that all printed materials meet our high standards of quality and accuracy. This role is vital to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the custom printing industry.

Responsibilities

• Print daily scheduled and checklists.
• Keep daily/weekly records of what orders are received/processed compared to the schedule (ultimately identifying what orders are missing)
• Expose screens daily to meet Department needs. Make sure the daily production schedule is met.
• Block and tape screens are needed for the printing department.
• Stretch Screens to keep good inventory.
• Keep daily, weekly, and monthly records of how many screens are stretched/damaged/reasons for damage, etc.
• Request of all necessary supplies for the department.
• Oversee machine/equipment maintenance and upkeep.
• Perform all the duties of the Screen Cleaner and Ink room as needed.
• Assist in the Pre-Press Ink/Washing Rooms or other Department.
• Maintain a redo rate of not more than 3 mistakes in a 30-day period.
• Ability to lift to 40 lbs. if needed.
• Scrape/grind frames to be stretched if needed.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays or Sunday.
• Assist other departments if needed – instructed by the Supervisor/Plant Managers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pre-press preparation or a related field within the printing industry.
• Strong knowledge of color management principles and print production processes.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong quality control skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
• Experience with layout design techniques is highly desirable.
• Good Communication skills both verbal and written
• Computer/Math aptitude.
• Bilingual preferred
