To supervise housekeepers and laundry attendants, and ensure they are performing their primary functions in an efficient and timely manner. To ensure that all areas of the hotel are kept properly stocked with clean laundry items. To clean public spaces and guest accommodations and stock with appropriate supplies in accordance with established standards. The duties and responsibilities listed below are not all inclusive and serve only as a guideline for this position. Duties and Responsibilities:
General Duties:
- Sort linens for washer.
- Remove stains for badly soiled linen.
- Operate washers and dryers properly.
- Fold all linens to hotel standards.
- Wash bedspreads, bed pads, and blankets per instructions.
- Keep laundry area neat and clean.
- Handle all laundry chemical products properly and advise housekeeping in inventory levels.
- Assist housekeeping in other areas when laundry is slow or caught up.
Guest Rooms:
- Attend staff meetings to learn room assignments and days tasks.
- Stock housekeeping carts with cleaning supplies, fresh linens and guest supplies.
- Clean, vacuum, dust and restock guest rooms and guest supplies.
- Make beds
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guest rooms.
- Ensure that everything is in working order.
- Respond to guest requests and report guest issues and complaints in a hospitable manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Strict follow through on lost and found procedures. No articles should ever be removed from occupied rooms. Absolute respect for guests property should always be exercised.
- Constant awareness of safety hazards (i.e., broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons) and report to supervisor.
- Follow all training procedures relating to blood borne pathogens
Supervisory Duties:
- Keep housekeepers focused and motivated.
- Run and collect linen when needed.
- Inspect rooms on a daily basis.
- Inform housekeepers of deficiencies in cleaning and turning of rooms.
- Coach and lead housekeepers on completing a room in a timely manner.
- Report any maintenance issues to maintenance personnel for handling.
- Keep housekeepers educated on updated of room standards.
- Basic reading, writing and math skills and one year of food preparation experience.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to stand in one area while preparing, handling and cutting food for extensive period of time.
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing approximately 50 pounds.
- Good communication skills to interact with other cooks, wait staff, managers and supervisors.
- Ability to utilize often problem solving, reasoning and organizational skills
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
- 1 year of Head Housekeeping experience
- 2 years of housekeeping experience
Physical Demands:
- On feet for long periods of time
