Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dual General Manager to run our TownePlace Suites and SpringHill Suites property in Shreveport, LA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully opening and managing hotels from the ground up. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, hands-on operational experience, Opening Marriott properties and the ability to recruit, hire, and train a team to deliver top-tier guest experiences in alignment with Marriott brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Leadership:
· Manage all pre-opening activities, including but not limited to construction oversight, vendor coordination, and property setup.
· Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategies for a successful launch.
Team Recruitment & Training:
· Recruit, hire, and onboard a dynamic and service-oriented team.
· Provide thorough training to all employees, ensuring adherence to Marriott brand standards and company policies.
Operational Management:
· Oversee daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, sales, and maintenance.
· Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction by maintaining service excellence.
· Monitor key performance metrics, including revenue, occupancy, and profitability.
Financial Oversight:
· Develop and manage budgets, forecast revenues, and control expenses to maximize profitability.
· Conduct regular financial reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
Sales & Marketing:
· Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute effective marketing strategies to drive occupancy and revenue.
· Represent the hotel within the local community to build strong partnerships and increase visibility.
Compliance & Safety:
· Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, local regulations, and health/safety requirements.
· Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain the highest standards of quality.
Qualifications
Experience:
· Minimum of 5 years in hotel management, with at least 3 years in a General Manager role.
· Proven experience in opening and successfully operating a Marriott-branded property is strongly preferred.
Skills:
· Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities.
· Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
· Equivalent experience may be considered.
