What are the responsibilities and job description for the Polisher position at Galaxy Technologies?
Job Purpose: Creates quality products by removing machinery marks. Works under general supervision.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Removes mill marks by deburring and hand sanding parts and tools. Polishes parts, aircraft tooling, and injection molds by applying various finishes. Finishes parts by trimming layup, applying radius, removing tool tabs, and plugging fixture holes.
2. Maintains personal equipment by repairing and/or replacing tools.
3. Performs machine maintenance by checking fluid levels, inspecting for needed repairs, and making repairs and/or arranging for repairs to be made.
4. Becomes familiar with the quality system requirements as they pertain to the department.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Secures tools, materials and equipment at end of day.
6. Contributes to team effort by actively participating in team meetings.
Additional Responsibilities as needed:
1. Provides assistance to coworkers and other departments including tool building, hobby shop, and fiberglass.

1. High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of three years mold polishing and aircraft deburring or other related experience generally required.

4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, procedure manuals and job instructions.

9. Ability to use hand tools, such as files and hammer.
10. Ability to read tape measure.
11. Ability to use power tools, such as Datco.
12. Ability to use hoist and forklift.
13. Ability to use department equipment such as computer, computer software (to include Microsoft Office products), pencil grinder, air grinder, sander and die profile machine.
14. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
