Job Title: Associate Director, Medical Operations Excellence - Immunology

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid - 3 days/wk in office)

Overview:

The Associate Director of Strategy and Medical Operations Excellence will play a key role in driving operational effectiveness and strategic alignment within the US Medical Affairs nemolizumab organization. This position will oversee and optimize home office/headquarters and field medical operations, ensuring the successful execution of medical tactics and initiatives in collaboration with internal and external (vendors) stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership on project management support for all US Medical Affairs-led programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director, US Medical Affairs Nemolizumab to develop and ensure tracking and implementation the overall US Medical strategic and tactical plan.
  • Partner with USMA strategic and Field Medical Leadership and cross-functional teams to align tactical plans with strategic objectives and ensure timeline-oriented execution.
  • Enhance existing processes and implement new procedures to streamline medical operations (home office and field) and ensure compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
  • Lead and create a USMA nemolizumab dashboard to manage and track progress and metrics for all USMA tactics.
  • Manage vendor relationships and logistics implementation to support effective execution of field medical activities and programs. Includes contracts for external HCPs and vendors, SOW, MSAs, POs
  • Lead the development and management of the US medical budget in collaboration with finance partners. Ensure efficient allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives and operational needs.
  • Maintain a robust congress calendar with assigning accountabilities to internal USMA nemo medical stakeholders for congresses.
  • Lead and maintain nemolizumab medical affairs leadership team and nemo forum meetings - create agendas, action items and drive accountability.
  • Support compliance review and approval processes for regional and national advisory boards, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the submission of field medical materials through the Medical Review Board (MRB) for approval for regional congresses and other events.
  • Support onboarding of new personnel within US Field Medical Affairs, through creating custom onboarding plans and ensuring new milestones are being met in coordination with national MSL director.
  • Capture and analyze field medical needs assessments, business justifications, and operational metrics to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Create insight reports for field metrics using Veeva and Power BI
  • Support creation of quantitative insight reports with national MSL director and medical director.
  • Support other operational and/or project management activities as needed.


Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in life sciences or healthcare required with 7 years’ experience in medical affairs or commercial operational excellence, with demonstrated experience in strategic planning and operational management with strong leadership skills and a collaborative and high-performance work approach in the pharma/biotech world

OR
  • MS Degree with 5 years of experience in medical affairs or commercial operational excellence, with demonstrated experience in strategic planning and operational management with strong leadership skills and a collaborative and high-performance work approach in the pharma/biotech world

OR
  • Advanced Degree (PharmD, PhD, MD) with 3 years of experience in medical affairs or commercial operational excellence, with demonstrated experience in strategic planning and operational management with strong leadership skills and a collaborative and high-performance work approach in the pharma/biotech world


Skills:
  • Excellent project management skills in medical affairs with a proven track record of driving results and managing complex projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation to achieve targeted objectives.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, compliance, and best practices in medical affairs.
  • Travel is estimated at 10-20%
  • 3/days week in Boston Office
