SUMMARY:
The Café Gianna Barista is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and serve high-quality beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, equipment, and seating areas.
- Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately.
- Provide recommendations and educate customers about menu items and coffee varieties.
- Operate coffee-making equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
- Handle cash and credit transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking supplies as needed.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Attend training sessions and stay updated on new products and techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing methods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent; barista training or certification is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).
REASONING ABILITY:
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
