SUMMARY:
The Cook I is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items according to recipes and established standards. This role involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring food quality and presentation, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
- Assist in menu planning and food preparation for daily operations and special events.
- Monitor food inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Participate in staff training and development as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
