SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial reporting process, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and supporting the organization's financial goals. This role involves preparing financial reports, conducting audits, and collaborating with other departments to provide financial insights that inform business decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP.
- Manage the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights to management.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Review and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and support strategic initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
