Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Goal: To manage and oversee the financial aid process of Galen’s campuses in accordance with federal Title IV regulations.
Position Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for properly managing Title IV programs.
- Responsible for all aspects of implementation and configuration processes associated with conversion to new Student Information System.
- Assist in maintaining Financial Aid Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Assist in maintaining the Default Management Manual.
- Attend financial aid workshops and seminars and examine correspondence from the Department of Education and state agencies to ensure continued compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide financial aid staff members with information regarding changes in federal and state regulations.
- Review and approve request for use of Professional Judgment and Dependency Overrides.
- Administer and monitor compliance in the Federal Direct Loan programs.
- Update and revise financial aid forms and applications as necessary.
- Provide guidance, training, and assistance for campus staff with questions and concerns regarding Title IV programs and the appropriate use of Colleague/Regent/Other Systems.
- Maintain and enforce the financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress policy.
- Responsible for maintenance and updates to Financial Aid Section of Employee Resource Center.
Other Duties:
Assist the Director of Financial Aid with other phases of financial aid as necessary.
Position Requirements:
Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED, some college helpful.
Special Qualifications / Experience:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Must have excellent interpersonal, written, oral and technical skills.
- Must be highly organized with ability to work in a team environment, multitask and prioritize projects.
- Have an ability to respect at all times the confidential nature of the work and information in the Executive’s office.
- Knowledge of and experience in administering student-based services in compliance with federal, accrediting body, and departmental regulations.
- Previous experience with or in administering Title IV Aid programs.
- Knowledge of Student Financial Aid, Dept. of Education regulations, and higher education policy.
- The candidate must have the ability to enroll in and be granted access to all Department of Education websites, including but not limited to NSLDS, COD, CPS, etc. Only candidates with no history of prior student loan default will be considered.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit at a computer desk for eight hours each day.
