Job Summary And Qualifications

The Project Manager for Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for various projects within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. This position provides creative, innovative support in the development of project plans, schedules, budgets, change management, and tracks work and status of projects aimed at the delivery of standardized curricula and clinical learning activities to Galen campuses. This position requires effective interaction with leaders and key stakeholders while demonstrating our values of inclusivity, character, accountability, respect, and excellence (iCARE).

Position Responsibilities

  • Work with the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction to develop project plans, schedules, budgets, implementation and launch timelines, and change management plan.
  • Track work, status, deliverables, and reports on projects aimed at the delivery of standardized curricula including clinical learning activities to Galen campuses.
  • Utilizes software such as Microsoft Project, Planner, and Smartsheet to manage projects, create dashboards, track tasks and data assigned, ensuring information is current, accurate, and in a reportable format.
  • Manages key documents required for project initiation through execution, ensuring timely review of information and signing off from stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Serves as liaison with other College departments when projects/reports intersect with those of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Works with the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction to develop and implement a change management communication process ensuring that stakeholders are provided with the appropriate information in the necessary timeframes.
  • Collects and analyzes information, draws conclusions, makes suitable recommendations, and constructs reports on routine and ad-hoc basis.
  • Assists the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the administrative details to plan and coordinate the implementation of curricular and instruction policies and decisions, as well as conduct independent research and formulate recommendations of changes in policies and procedures; facilitates new policy and/or procedure training, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Curriculum and Instruction, including but not limited to logistical support for meetings, project support for other leaders, and general administrative support.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Education: Minimum of an earned bachelor’s degree. Equivalent experience in lieu of an earned degree may be considered.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of higher education or business operations experience preferred; prior experience in project management or project coordination required; project management certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience:
    • Must be highly organized and possess the ability to frequently multi-task between projects and maintain a high level of service and output.
    • Experience working and collaborating with a diverse and dispersed team is helpful. Must possess the ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization; prior experience working with individuals at the executive level preferred.
    • Excellent judgment, problem-solving, analytical abilities, attention to detail, and high emotional intelligence are essential.
    • Superior, highly proficient, and professional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Effectively able to build consensus amongst and prioritize the needs of constituent groups.
    • Previous experience with working with sensitive and highly confidential data is preferred.
  • Special Qualifications: Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines; self-motivated; ability to work with minimal supervision; strong organizational skills; ability to effectively collaborate with team members at a distance via web conferencing tools (i.e., Zoom) and via email. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience or ability to quickly acclimate to project management software, such as Smartsheet, and flowchart diagramming software, such as Visio. Must have an ability to continually respect the confidential nature of the work and information in the office. Minimal travel may be required.
  • Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment: Position requires mental activity, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision-making. Physical demands are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum). Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, and printer.
  • Degree of Supervision: Minimal
