Business Relations Coordinator
Galen Medical Group offers several medical specialties throughout the Chattanooga region. We provide quality care and patient-friendly services to adults and children of all ages. 3 days per week. Must be flexible with hours and days due to the nature of the role (health fairs, visiting referring offices, etc.)
Summary/Objective:
The Business Relations Coordinator is responsible for supporting and enhancing Galen Medical Group’s Allergy and Asthma offices' business development initiatives through marketing, relationship building, and communications. This role focuses on fostering partnerships, coordinating marketing strategies, and serving as a liaison between healthcare providers, community partners, and internal teams to promote organizational growth. The coordinator ensures consistency in branding, manages promotional efforts, and provides valuable insights to drive patient growth and provider network expansion.
Essential Functions:
Business Development
• Build and maintain partnerships with businesses, organizations, schools, and groups.
• Attend meetings with the Business Development Manager if needed.
• Support manager with projects when needed.
Marketing
• Planning, coordinating, and evaluating the Allergy and Asthma office's marketing strategies.
• Conduct market research to inform and align strategies with patient needs.
• Identify appropriate markets and devise plans to effectively reach them.
• Collaborate and regularly meet with marketing partners to coordinate strategies.
• Research, understand, and explain healthcare services' volume, utilization, and market data.
• Ability to research, understand, and explain market demographics.
• Update brand guide and ensure guide aligns with vision.
• Ensure all marketing and communication efforts follow Galen brand (ie, Rack Cards, Business Cards, etc.).
• Manage health professional marketing strategies (ie, billboard photoshoots, magazine advertisements, spotlights).
• Complete invoices in a timely manner.
• Maintain budget and update the Operations Director quarterly.
• Provide quarterly reports on progress and outcomes.
Health Professional/Physician Liaison
• Foster relationships with health professionals and practice sites to improve their referrals.
• Build, maintain, and/or expand Galen’s local provider network by:
o Meeting with local practices, physician liaisons, referral coordinators, and practice managers.
o Providing business cards, rack cards, and referral letters to referring practices.
o Addressing feedback from practices about referrals to Galen providers (e.g., faxing issues, slow responses).
• Increase referrals for Galen providers by:
o Understanding and explaining physician and non-physician referral patterns.
o Coordinating with site managers, providers, and staff.
o Creating and sending out welcome and referral letters/postcards.
o Scheduling new provider office visits to current Galen providers and introducing Galen providers to PCPs or specialists in the local network.
• Analyze provider profits/losses to target strong and weak points in marketing and provide insights for ROI improvement.
Communications
• Manage social media on various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) including posts, messaging, and engagement.
• Maintain signage and promotional efforts across all practices.
• Compile quarterly newsletters.
• Address practice and provider reviews on all platforms.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ability to supervise marketing, communications, and recruitment efforts.
• Ability to discuss marketing processes with practice managers and external partners.
• Ability to select the right campaign design that catches consumers eyes and aligns with Galens vision.
• Organizational skills: Ability to timeline business development efforts, meet deadlines, and maximize funding.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with practice managers, external partners, and team members.
• Ability to evaluate marketing strategies and select approaches that align with organizational goals and target audience needs.
• Generate innovative solutions and overcome challenges in marketing and business development initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patients, medical, financial, and legal information.
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
• Work independently, demonstrate attention to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
• Actively contribute to a team environment and support organizational objectives.
• Understand and adhere to HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality and data privacy.
• Maintain awareness of OSHA standards for workplace safety.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred; or a combination of education and relevant professional experience preferred I lieu of degree.
• Prior Clinical Medical experience required; The ideal candidate will have marketing experience in healthcare, with preference given to those holding an LPN certification or equivalent medical experience, to ensure they can effectively navigate the clinical aspects of the role.
Experience:
• 1-3 years of experience in business development or marketing, preferably within a healthcare or related industry.
• High-level competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
• Experience with website design platforms (October, WordPress, Canva).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• High degree of professionalism; detail-oriented, thorough, and efficient.
