Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our educational team. This role involves working with a variety of students, guiding their development, and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
Duties
1. Provide consistent and effective instructional opportunities that meet the individual and specific needs of all students.
2. Assess student progress during instructions and uses data to drive instructional decisions and intervention strategies.
3. Identify varied strategies to motivate and connect with students and families to support and promote all student learning.
4. Maintain an encouraging and supportive environment while demonstrating clear expectations of high standards for student performance.
5. Interact and communicate in a culturally appropriate manner with parents and community to reach educational goals.
6. Present student data at team meetings, manages individual student learning plans, including progress monitoring and updating intervention strategies and timelines.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education required.
- Alaska teacher certificate with Reads Act endorsement, required.
- Ability to work as part of a collegial team.
- Ability and desire to coach and support classroom reading teachers in reading and phonics instruction best practices.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an elementary classroom teacher, preferred.
- Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and knowledge of the cultures reflected required.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
