Job Title: Resident Assistant
Reports to: Wellness Director
Summary: The Resident Assistant will provide warm and engaging personal care services, assistance, and support to all residents within the Galerie Management community.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assists residents with all activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, hygiene, mobility- as directed by their individual service plans
- Monitors changes in residents’ status and personal care needs; documents observations and advises supervisors and/or clinical associates as appropriate
- Assists in the development and updating of Resident Care Plans
- Encourages resident participation in scheduled life enrichment activities
- Assists with laundry and light housekeeping tasks as directed
- Monitors the community and takes appropriate action to keep the environment safe, clean, and attractive for residents, guests, and co-workers
- Participates in and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled
- Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and Galerie Management’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Education and Duties:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have either a High School Diploma or GED
- An active Certified Nursing Assistant license is preferred for this position but not required
Knowledge and Skills:
- Can follow written or verbal instructions
- Ability to read and comprehend resident care plans
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, residents' families, and other associates of the company
- Uses good judgment in emergency situations and gets help when needed
Working Conditions: Specific physical requirements are outlined in accordance with the American Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)
- Requires interaction with coworkers, residents or vendors
- Occasional weekend, evening or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage
- 100% time spent on site in community setting
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections
- Exposure to latex
- Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens
- Possible exposure to various drugs, chemical, infectious, or biological hazards
