We are currently seeking a Physical Support Aide to assist individuals in need by providing essential physical support and improving their quality of life. This role is ideal for compassionate, patient, and dedicated professionals who want to make a positive impact in the community.
As a Physical Support Aide, you will provide mobility assistance and physical care to individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses, injuries, or age-related conditions. Your role will help clients maintain their independence and comfort while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Provide physical assistance to clients, including help with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation.
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help clients with exercises and range-of-motion activities as directed by healthcare providers.
- Support clients with assistive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, and prosthetic devices.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding if necessary, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Provide light housekeeping services, such as laundry, changing linens, and keeping living areas clean.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to improve the client’s mental and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and report any changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition to the care team.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for the client by following proper safety protocols.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, or errands as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in caregiving, home health, or physical assistance is a plus but not required.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift, move, or assist clients with mobility (lifting requirement of at least 50 lbs).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with clients and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and reliability to provide quality care.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if necessary.
- Must pass a background check in compliance with state regulations.
