Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff in food preparation and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the food industry, particularly in a restaurant or catering environment.
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old, but our ideal candidate is someone who is out of high school and interested in going into food service or nutrition.
- Great experience in a fun residential camp setting!
- Paid weekly stipend plus housing and meals included!
Season runs from June 22 – August 16, 2025

Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and preparing sauces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure a safe cooking environment.
- Help chef with cooking tasks as needed, including operating kitchen equipment and tools.
- Support catering events by preparing food items and setting up serving areas.
- Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food safety practices is a plus.
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment are advantageous.
- A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen setting is essential.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
