Commercial Estimator Position

Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma required.
- Associate degree accepted; Bachelor’s preferred.
- 2 years’ minimum experience in commercial excavation estimating.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of CAD files and current estimating software (specifically Site Work).
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and contract documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents.
- Prepare estimates for excavation, utilities and site work.
- Monitoring all aspects of contract compliance.
- Produce quality take-offs.
- Reviews projects with job foreman during excavation to verify labor production and learn from any problems encountered.
- Communicates with general contractors, engineers and other potential customers on future work submittals.
- Prepares and executes estimates for change orders.
- Support the company team with data entry for monthly billing.
- Verifies licensing and any additional requirements.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
