Position Summary:
Gallagher Bassett Technical Services division (GBTS) is looking to hire a full-time Staff Professional - Project Manager to work and support the Environmental practice area in our southern n Florida (Miami) regional office. The position will include project management, research, reporting preparation, and field assessment activities. The candidate must have a minimum of 1-3 years of full-time experience and a minimum 4–year degree from an accredited university or college in the field of environmental science or associated field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Manager for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, Site Assessment Projects, Tank Closure Assessments and Remediation Projects, including all associated research, field investigations, sampling activities, report preparations, status update correspondences, client relations, proposal preparations, invoicing and collections.
- Manage specialty projects that may require travel or involve a higher level of skill/knowledge.
- Support outer office projects on an as-needed basis.
- Prepare proposals on an as-needed basis.
- Field Work including groundwater, surface water and soil sampling, use of field measurement instruments (OVA, peristaltic pumps, centrifugal pumps, stabilization meters, depth-to-groundwater)
Additional Considerations:
- Must be able to pass a medical exam for use of a respirator
Qualifications – External
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (environmental/civil engineering, geology, or other earth sciences discipline preferred) and a minimum of 2 years’ experience required.
- Must have valid driver's license and dependable automobile transportation available.
- Required to survey client properties; entails negotiating non-public access areas, climbing, extended periods of walking/standing, lifting/carrying 25 pounds, working in extreme weather conditions.
- Job may require after-hour work, weekend work and some travel.
- Competent in college level mathematics.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desired:
- Able to effectively prioritize assignments. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
- Detail oriented
- Bilingual or multi-lingual capability
