Overview

Gallagher Bassett Technical Services is seeking a qualified environmental, health, and safety (EHS) professional to become a valued member of our Safety & Health team. The ideal candidate for this position must be a proactively motivated individual with the ability to manage projects and deliver quality safety consulting services with minor supervision.

This Site Safety Manager position is a contract-based full-time position overseeing safety operations for Atlanta regional area construction projects. This is a 3.5-year assignment expected to start in 2026 and completed by 2029. The Site Safety Manager shall exclusively be responsible for safety matters related to the Work Site for which they are assigned to and shall not have any other responsibilities associated with the Contract.

Pay - Starting at $35/hr depending on experience and certifications.

The ideal candidate will be located in the Atlanta-Macon, Georgia Interstate 75 corridor area.

How you'll make an impact

• This position will report directly to the regional Manager of Field Operations.
• Implement and enforce applicable construction site safety programs in accordance with all federal, state, local, and our customer's needs.
• Oversee and manage all site activities that relate to safe work practices. Review all construction/engineering designs and plans.
• Ensure our Clients' subcontractors perform all required actions and duties as it relates to system safety compliance; fire/ life safety; safety training; required safety certification; emergency procedures, plans and drills; and any other environmental safety/risk management compliance.
• Safety/security implications related to contractor and subcontractor operations.
• Perform daily safety inspection report audits and related testing and verification of operational safety readiness.
• Coordination of other safety personnel for construction or build-out projects/activities.
• Coordination of Safety related items with the General Contractor's office.
• F amiliarity with and environmental regulations and guidelines and workplace hazard controls; and ability to provide recommendations to reduce potential workplace hazards.
• Participating in Pre-Bid/Orientation Meetings with each Contractor and Subcontractors providing an overview of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP), enrollment procedures and responsibilities during the project and an overview of the safety and claims procedures.
• Participate in insurance carrier safety inspections/reviews of project site and advise on any issues and what course of action should be taken to correct
• Coordinate an effective claim reporting policy and procedure to minimize the cost of loss, emphasize light duty and return-to -work programs and facilitation.
• This position requires the ability to work off-shift hours, including weekends and holidays.

About You

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in safety, occupational safety and health, OR related field and minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
• Past experience and/or familiarity with the commercial electrical utility infrastructure and/or power generation construction development projects.
• Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course .
• Competent to instruct and provide training/instruction on-site personnel as needed.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Preferred:

• Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST). Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
• Active member of American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).
• Bi-lingual or multi-lingual communication skills.

• Strong understanding of regulatory, professional, and industry standards and practices.
• Proactive attitude and customer service focus.
• Computer competency in Microsoft Office (MS) products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
