In business since 1950, Gallagher Fire Equipment Company is a full service fire protection company specializing in inspection, installation and repair. Our service area is primarily Southeastern Michigan. We are looking for a self-motivated, skilled, and electrically/mechanically inclined specialist to join our team. This person must have the desire to accept the responsibility of working within the Life Safety industry.
Gallagher Fire Equipment is looking to hire a highly-motivated person that is a dedicated worker experienced cutting and threading black pipe or CPVC assembly for the Fire Sprinkler Protection trade. The individual we hire will become a part of an outstanding team of Sprinklered Fire Protection Professionals that perform installations in new buildings, modifications to existing buildings and system repairs as needed.
Essential skills and abilities required to perform this job successfully:
- MUST Have: black pipe or CPVC installation experience.
- A High School diploma / GED.
- Excellent basic math skills.
- Organized with an attention to detail.
- Accustomed to working with your hands.
- Experience cutting and threading galvanized or black pipe.
- Experience assembling CPVC components.
- Not afraid of heights.
- Ability to stand or climb stairs and ladders for a long period of time.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds without assistance.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Must have reliable transportation to make it to job-site every day on time.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good oral and written English communication skills..
- Must possess good decision making skills.
- Must maintain consistent and regular attendance.
- Prefer Nicet II certification, but not necessary.

Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine installation requirements for fire sprinkler systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques to assemble and install piping and sprinkler components.
- Perform pipe threading and soldering tasks while adhering to ASME codes and standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of installed systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to provide exceptional customer service and support.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment on construction sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour
