Responsibilities
- Construction and Repair: Construct, repair, and install wooden structures and fixtures, such as framing, flooring, cabinets, and trim.
- Reading Blueprints: Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to accurately execute projects.
- Material Selection: Select and prepare materials, including wood, hardware, and other building materials.
- Tool Usage: Operate a variety of hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, hammers, and nail guns.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve construction problems and challenges.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Carpenter
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and building codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal carpentry apprenticeship or vocational training
- Experience in a variety of carpentry projects, including residential and commercial
- Knowledge of various woodworking techniques, such as joinery and finishing
- Ability to estimate material costs and project timelines
