POSITION PURPOSE

Oversees the west campus yard daily and carries out the systems that are designed for ordering, receiving, delivering, tracking, purchasing, safety, trucking, retail, and quarry operations to include processes and visits. Ensures safety, quality and productivity requirements are met according to project requirements each day. Exemplifies customer service when dealing directly with the owner, vendors, project superintendents, general contractors, and internal customers in all departments. Assists with all departments at the West Campus; Tools/Equipment, Mechanics and the Marble Shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES

• Daily oversight of stone yard operations ensuring organization and efficiency.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and management to the west campus that mirrors the adopted mission, vision, and values of the company.
• Manage customer complaints or issues with professionalism and ensure actions are taken in a timely manner; engage leadership immediately when determined necessary.
• Provide masonry support to all divisions with the goal of meeting annual budget goals.
• Develop and implement systems for inventory, loss control, transfer of materials and tracking of daily retail receipts, inventory control management.
• Develop and implement systems and processes for smooth operations to include but not limited to developing and implementing new purchasing and re-ordering methods.
• Verify sales tax calculations and audit retail job cost sections.
• Rely on extensive experience and judgment to determine the best method(s) of freight movement to assist sales in making decisions during the order acquisition process; provide solutions to complex logistics transactions.
• Work closely with the sales team to process orders for customers and resolve issues for the customer(s) timely to include verifying yard staff sales tax calculations and auditing retail job cost sections.
• Coordinate daily activity to track locations and movement of trucks; provide information to outside sales team and customers as needed.
• Coordinate deliveries for daily retail sales and outside sales team.
• Record and report material purchased, received, delivered, transferred, and shipped daily.
• Develop process(es) to improve efficiency and organization of our supply chain operations.
• Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as a priority on all job sites, bringing immediate attention to any worker’s observed actions of unsafe behaviors and practices.
• Assist with coordination of schedules and deliveries from external vendors.
• Work with other leaders and Project Managers to coordinate deliveries to other areas and job sites.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3 years of Construction or similar experience
• Knowledge of all stone products including different types of stone along with supplies
• Ability to safely operate machinery

CERTICATIONS

• OSHA 10-hour training within 90 days in this role
• Forklift certification

COMPUTER/TYPING

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office, cost accounting and inventory systems.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

• Must have a working knowledge of the English language to communicate with other crew members, customers, etc.
