Our gallery represents the extraordinary works of one of Mexico's most celebrated living artists, Veronica Ruiz de Velasco, whose masterpieces have graced the walls of renowned institutions including the Museo de Arte Moderno and whose commissions include portraits for world leaders. As we establish our presence in the Hamptons' sophisticated art scene, we seek a visionary leader to helm our new location.
Role Overview :
The Gallery Director will be responsible for establishing and overseeing all aspects of our new Southampton location, ensuring its success through strategic leadership, artistic vision, and operational excellence. This position requires an exceptional individual who can blend curatorial expertise with business acumen while representing the distinguished works of Veronica Ruiz de Velasco to an international clientele.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all gallery operations
- Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies to establish the gallery's presence in Southampton
- Oversee exhibition planning, installation, and programming
- Build and nurture relationships with high-net-worth collectors, art advisors, and institutional clients
- Direct all aspects of gallery operations, including sales, marketing, and administrative functions
- Lead and mentor gallery staff, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth
- Organize and host exclusive events, private viewings, and VIP client receptions
- Represent the gallery at major art fairs, including the Hamptons Fine Art Fair and other prestigious events
- Collaborate closely with the artist to understand new works and effectively communicate artistic vision
- Manage gallery inventory, including artwork care, presentation, and logistics
- Develop and maintain relationships with key art world professionals, including critics, curators, and consultants
- Oversee budget management and financial planning for the gallery
- Create and implement marketing strategies to enhance gallery visibility and reputation
