Art Consultant (Sales & Gallery Administration)
Gefen Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in the heart of San Francisco.
We are seeking a confident, driven, and detail-oriented Art Consultant*to join our team. This role blends client-facing sales with essential gallery operations and administrative support—ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, art-centered workplace and is comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Relations
- Guide clients through the acquisition process with personalized art recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with collectors, designers, and corporate clients.
- Conduct consultations both in-gallery and off-site.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals through strategic outreach, upselling, and follow-up.
- Develop deep knowledge of artists and inventory to speak confidently about the work.
- Manage all aspects of the sales process, including quoting, invoicing, and closing.
Marketing & Visual Support
- Create visual renderings and mock-ups to help clients envision artworks in their spaces (Photoshop proficiency required).
- Edit images for use in digital presentations, client proposals, and social media.
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials including digital brochures and email campaigns.
- Support gallery marketing efforts with market research and trend insights.
Gallery Operations & Administrative Tasks
- Support daily gallery operations, including sales documentation, CRM data entry, and shipping coordination.
- Track inventory, condition reports, and coordinate installation logistics.
- Maintain an organized and professional gallery environment.
Qualifications
- Background in Luxury Sales, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years experience in sales, preferably in a high-end retail or art environment.
- Strong proficiency in Photoshop and basic design tools.

Base salary plus commission
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
