Job Duties for Employment Services Case Manager:
Determine eligibility for support services and community resources: Utilize assessment and evaluation techniques to determine individual employment needs, barriers and interests; Develop comprehensive and personalized support services plans and employment plans for client; Select and refer clients to job openings, internships, educational and training opportunities; Conduct on-going case management, crisis intervention, monitoring and post-termination follow up services, including job retention and job progression; Continually evaluate and assess client needs; Recommend appropriate support services and referrals; Collaborate with co-workers and various organizations (e.g., agencies, institutions) in providing comprehensive services and participates in team case management approaches; Collaborate with services providers and employers to ensure supportive services are in place, monitors client progress, matches client skills, abilities and employment goals with appropriate work site; and Work with clients in a variety of ways (e.g., scheduling appointments, conducting assessments and reassessment, calling or writing to clients and sites, requesting good cause from clients for non-participation)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Conducts interviews to assess & assist in resolving customer & applicant employment needs & barriers, & to determine eligibility for workforce development programs (such as WIOA) as well as emergency programs (such as PRC, NEG, etc.); verifies eligibility (for programs such as TANF CCMEP, SNAP FAET, etc.,); (e.g.: interview individuals, requests & accepts required documentation, provides job search & readiness information, (e.g.: labor market data, resume techniques, interviewing skills, salary negotiations, internet job searching & community & partner resources, etc.), data enters information, inquiries into exchange systems to verify information, makes appropriate referrals and provides assistance to overcome employment barriers, notifies re: rights & responsibilities, determines program eligibility & authorizes or denies, provides appropriate notices, assists with resume development & creation of cover letters, etc.), performs required duties for veterans. Attends & assists with the setup of Job Fairs & provides same services to attendees. Maintains files, records & client program budgets as instructed of such activity in written & electronic format. Attends conferences, meetings & training as assigned. Maintains ongoing caseload of customers in Workforce Development programs & participation in work activities. Reviews ongoing eligibility, participation, and issues sanctions in workforce development and work activities. Provides oversight to the Resource Room to ensure quality customer service (e.g.: keeps job board current with up-to-date job postings; communicates with community resource agencies & employers within confidentiality guidelines to maintain current employment & resource information; stocks training & reference materials including current information about One Stop partners; assists customers with Resource Room materials and equipment (eg.: computer use, search engines, resume programs, copier & fax machine, etc.); answers inquiries received by phone, email or in person). Assists customers in meeting employment barrier, job search or retention needs (e.g.: interviews Resource Room customers to assess & assist in resolving needs through Resource Room resources, makes referrals to appropriate internal staff &/or external community resources, maintains records of persons served & services provided in electronic or written format as instructed; Assesses trends & patterns in customer training needs & advises supervisor &/or administrator of same. Identifies & collects records as instructed for review (e.g.: Quality Assurance): gathers, collates & enters data into computer program, creates & distributes reports. Attends staff meetings, training & conferences as assigned. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and /or Director.
MINIMUM CLASS REQUIREMENTS: (including license, if any) Associate Degree with core coursework in one of the following: human services; social services; education; business administration; public administration, (or equivalent field of study); OR A Certified Life Coach (or equivalent certification/licensing); OR A minimum of two years of related experience in assessment and interviewing techniques and two years of related experience in utilizing a case management approach to serve client needs for supportive services (or equivalent mixture of course work and work experience). Acceptable "equivalent" is at the sole discretion of the Agency.
