Minimum Requirements
- At least one year of experience in a role related to maritime safety. This could include:
- Deck officer on vessels of at least 200 GRT/500 GT
- Other shipboard roles with responsibility for:
- Operating, testing, and maintaining survival equipment
- Conducting abandon-ship drills
- Training passengers and/or crew in lifesaving equipment and procedures
- Equivalent military experience:
- Boatswain mate
- Survival or rescue swimmer
- At least one year of experience in one of the following areas:
- Deck officer on vessels of at least 200 GRT/500 GT
- Engineering officer on vessels of at least 200 GRT/500 GT
- Military damage control
- Professional firefighter
- US work authorization
