What are the responsibilities and job description for the Furnace Operator 3rd Shift position at Gallmar Industries,LLC.?
Responsible for racking, fixturing and loading the furnaces in a timely manner.
Other functions of the Furnace Operator Class (A)
Follows all relevant company policies and procedures.
Performs acceptably within the guidelines of the daily-performance scoring.
Double-checks processes and routing sheets in advance to prevent errors.
Double-checks quality of work produced within area of responsibility.
Makes sure part handling and packaging is sufficient to prevent part damage and oxidation.
Tracks supply level of all expendable supplies and fills out order forms as required.
Ensures all equipment is used properly.
Participates in team-related activities.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Maintains a high level of company moral.
Knows how all furnace equipment operates.
Knows how to inspect parts using Rockwell and Brinell.
Stamps test pins with load number and adds to the proper loads.
Counts parts into and out of furnaces and draws.
Knows how to take a dew point and how to adjust if needed.
Looks for and adds work to loads as needed.
Fills out work orders and load sheets.
Knows how and where to temper parts being quenched.
Knows how to cut and check test pins for the proper case depth.
Verifies parts being processed are properly checked for damage as required.
Any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Foreman or designated representative.
Dresses in an appropriate manner suitable to this position and wears required safety attire when necessary.
