You will participate in the day-to-day implementation and continuous improvement of environmental programs and compliance related activities primarily at Gallo's Glass manufacturing operation, but also at other Gallo facilities as needed. Thiswill include involvement in hazardous waste materials, water and energy management, storm water management, wastewater compliance, and air emissions. You will aid in implementing environmental systems including ISO 14001 (EMS), CERS, and R3 programs.
What You Will Do
Influences:
- Leads environmental programs; develops and conducts environmental related communication and training programs to ensure regulatory compliance, manages regulatory documentation, and prepares and submits compliance/regulatory environmental reports
- Participates in the development of guidelines, SOPs, procedures and policies and its implementation
- Serves as an environmental advocate for promoting recycling, waste minimization, substitution of hazardous chemicals, water and energy conservation, etc.
Guides:
- Facilitates ISO 14001 conformance by working with Environmental Management on environmental data, metrics and document management systems, annual aspect scoring and development of Objectives and Targets
- Coordinates and facilitates or utilizes the Corporate Environmental Affairs document control system
- Coordinates site wide hazardous waste management activities and interface with waste disposal contractor and contractor representatives
What You Need
- Bachelor of Science plus 4 years of EHS experience or 2 years of OMDP experience with 2 years of EHS experience or comparable military experience.
- High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of EHS experience or comparable military experience.
- Experience with Federal, State and local environmental laws and regulations (CAA, CWA, RCRA), environmental auditing, regulatory reporting, ISO 14001.
- Title V air permit program management experience.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
What Will Set You Apart
- Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental/Ecological Science, Chemistry or Biology plus 5 years' of Environmental or Environmental Health & Safety experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology plus 7 years of Environmental or Environmental, Health & Safety experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Glass or Chemical, or Heavy Industry manufacturing EHS program experience.
Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $89,100 - $133,700 / year.
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
