Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnership & Strategy
- Leverage deep business and financial acumen to drive HR and People initiatives that align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to improve talent acquisition, retention, compensation, performance management, benefits, and employee experience.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the business by staying informed about industry trends, Galloway culture, company policies, and organizational structures.
- Scale and analyze HR data and metrics to propose and implement effective solutions, programs, and policies.
Talent Management & Development
- Serve as a coach and resource for talent acquisition and management teams to attract, develop, and retain top-tier talent.
- Oversee, visualize, and scale performance management processes, including annual reviews and check-in meetings that align employee performance with rewards and career growth.
- Develop and benchmark compensation strategies using internal data and external salary surveys to remain competitive and equitable.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Supervise and support the internal recruiting team and collaborate on all talent requisitions and recruitment strategies.
- Promote the company’s benefits package, positioning Galloway as an employer of choice.
- Orchestrate Galloway’s hiring and onboarding through continuous improvement best practices.
- Lead the onboarding process, ensuring new hires are effectively integrated and receive comprehensive HR orientation.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Advise managers and leaders on HR policies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, state mandated FMLA, and other employment regulations).
- Keep leadership informed of changes in labor laws and guide the organization through necessary updates or policy changes.
- Support Employee Relations Manager with employee leaves of absence, including FMLA and ADA claims, and oversee disability claims management.
- Support Employee Relations Manager with unemployment claims and coordinate industry compensation and benefits surveys.
- Support Talent Strategy Manager with job descriptions to ensure clarity and compliance.
- Regularly update the employee handbook to reflect changes in policies or legal requirements.
Employee Relations & Training
- Support the Employee Relations Manager with employee concerns or conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent solutions in collaboration with management.
- Ensure the development of training programs, including Non-Harassment and compliance training.
- Support offboarding processes for departing employees, ensuring a positive exit experience.
- Manage the administration of company policies, including the Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace policy and DOT compliance for PHMSA.
