What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Project Engineer position at Galloway & Company, Inc.?
- Performs mechanical and plumbing engineering for the assigned functional area such as HVAC systems, plumbing design, and kitchen exhaust systems
- Manages project schedules and budgets; communicates budget allocation to staff and coordinates mechanical engineering work
- Conceptualizes the initial mechanical and plumbing design approach
- Oversees the design and progress of a project including project coordination with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies
- Resolves conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements, etc
- Take a leadership role in new business development and building relationships with existing clients, including attendance at networking events and meetings
- Committed to the development, mentoring, and training of team members
- Collaborative, proactive and respectful approach in all team and client interactions

- Typically, 5 to 10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in HVAC and plumbing design is highly preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. Professional Registration preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Autodesk programs, Revit, and familiar with LEED and energy efficient design
- Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and approval processes as well as site-specific research with respect to these issues
- Ability to review, analyze and resolve mechanical and construction field issues
- Experience in managing project schedules, budgets, and team assignments
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills in directing multiple projects with multiple clients, as well as mentoring, training, coaching, and developing team members
The estimated starting base salary for this role is $85,000 to $105,000.
