Responsibilities
- Upholding Galloway’s values and standards by understanding and responding to client needs while providing quality consulting services.
- Applying diverse working knowledge of water resources engineering principles and practices in broad areas of the discipline by using techniques, theory precepts, and practices of water resources engineering and related sciences and disciplines.
- Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and designs for a diverse range of projects serving both public and private sectors clients.
- Preparing calculations and modeling for the analyses and design of storm drains, floodplain analyses, channels, stream restoration, riverine/irrigation systems, earthwork quantities, cost estimates, and other supporting documentation for public and private water resource projects.
- Preparing modeling, calculations, and reports for floodplain analysis submittals to FEMA and local floodplain administrators.
- Marketing Galloway’s capabilities within the water resources engineering specialty to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
- May mentor and train less-senior water resource engineering and support personnel.
- May perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or related field) from a four-year, ABET accredited curriculum required.
· Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and/or obtained Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) licensure, depending on level of experience.
· 2- to 6-years of progressive experience in hydrologic and hydraulic engineering associated with the fields of urban drainage/stormwater, riverine/floodplain analysis, and other areas of water resources.
· Experience with HEC-HMS, SWMM, CUHP, HEC-RAS 1D & 2D, SRH 2D or FLO-2D, AutoCAD, and GIS preferred.
- Understanding of the principles, practices, codes, and standards in the field of Water Resources Engineering.
- Understands calculations and programs used in analyses and development of water resources systems and reports: including urban drainage, riverine environments, storm sewers, and irrigation systems.
- Possesses working knowledge of various disciplines typically involved in water resource studies and projects. Demonstrated capabilities to integrate and coordinate various civil engineering work into analyses and projects.
- Demonstrates technical writing skills for reports and letters.
- Communicates in a timely and effective manner within team and with clients, various agencies, and other disciplines working on a project.
- Demonstrates effective skills in directing and completing assigned work while effectively managing multiple projects.
- Works with some supervision; exercises some independent judgment in completion of work, including directing engineering activities of junior engineers to complete tasks and portions of the overall project.
- Performs in a disciplined and thoughtful manner within a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a high-performance level in a fast-paced, accountable environment.
The estimated starting base salary for this role is $80,000 to $110,000
