Join our team! Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community located between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro in Chatham County, NC. The Resident Enrichment Coordinator in the Arbor is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing programs and events for residents of the Arbor while supporting the direction set forth by the Director of Resident Experience-Healthcare. Must be comfortable in the Healthcare setting, working directly with residents within the Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Care neighborhoods of the Arbor, shaping offerings appropriate and of interest to the resident population.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan, develop, and implement a broad spectrum of programs, designed with specific outcomes and goals. These programs will support the social, intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and environmental needs of the residents of Galloway Ridge. Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
- Foster optimal communication to ensure programs run smoothly. Work closely with Communications, Resident Services, and other members of the Life Enrichment team for marketing, room setup, reservations, and transportation needs.
- Assists in implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the activities department. Contributes effort to maintain and/or improve quality of care through participation in the following: Care Plan meetings, attending staff in-services and completing all required training.
- Promote programs in person to residents to encourage attendance. Engage with residents whenever able to build professional, but meaningful, relationships. Document resident program attendance and ensure that all charted program progress notes are informative, descriptive of the services provided, and indicate the resident’s response to the service. Assist with conducting in-room programs for those residents who benefit from one-on-one visits.
- Keep abreast of current national wellness and resident programming initiatives, activities, and trends and develop a network of resources/contacts to improve efforts and share best practices.
- Cross-train with other Resident Enrichment team members to cover programs/duties in their absence.
- All other duties assigned include but are not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience.
Requirements
- Must have experience and interest in the active aging population, with program development/implementation and events preferred.
- One- three years of job-related experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must possess positive energy, patience, a sense of imagination, and creativity.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented. Basic knowledge of audiovisual equipment.
- Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Experience and interest in leading exercise programs (yoga, tai chi, group exercise, etc) is highly preferred.
- Must function well within a team environment and also produce independently of others.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree.
- Activity Director Certification is highly preferred. CPR training is preferred but can be trained after hire.
