Overview
The Floor Staff at Gallup Children’s Museum plays a vital role in ensuring an engaging and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. This position facilitates hands-on exhibits, assists with educational programs, and maintains a welcoming and safe environment for children and families. The ideal candidate is dependable, hard-working, and passionate about education and play.
Duties
- Visitor Engagement: Interact with visitors in a friendly and professional manner, sharing helpful information about the museum. Facilitating learning and engagement with the exhibits and programs. Enforce museum expectations to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Exhibit Maintenance & Safety: Monitor exhibit areas to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety. Report safety concerns and clean the facility after families use it.
- Customer Service: Address visitor inquiries, concerns, and feedback courteously and effectively. Assist with crowd management during peak hours and special events.
- Event/ Program Assistance: Assist with birthday party rentals, special programs, and outreach events as needed.
Requirements
- Must be 16 or older
- Experience working with children and/or pursuing a degree in early childhood education.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and outgoing demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.

Work Schedule
- Saturday hours from 11:00am - 5:00 pm
- Required to work 1-2 Saturdays a month
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7 – 12 per week

- 8 hour shift
