Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between clients and service technicians. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive services and the ability to provide exceptional customer service while effectively managing service requests.
Duties
- Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs.
- Document customer concerns and vehicle issues accurately.
- Provide detailed estimates for repairs and maintenance services.
- Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of work.
- Upsell additional services and products based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further concerns.
- Stay updated on automotive diagnostics, repair techniques, and industry trends.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and familiarity with various vehicle systems.
- Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar customer-facing role within the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of auto body repair, shocks struts, diesel engine repair, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Strong upselling skills with an understanding of automotive service offerings.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- A background as a mechanic or service technician is preferred but not mandatory.
