Job description
Galvan is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for our Acid Recovery System Operator position. This individual will monitor the equipment used in our recovery system for efficient operation.
- Adjust flow rates to provide maximum output of iron and zinc sulfate crystals
- Level and change crystal bags, filters, and perform minor maintenance to galvanizing process tanks, pumps, and lines, when necessary
- Add acid and monitor and maintain fluid levels and temperatures in the galvanizing process tanks
- Assist with loading crystals for shipment when necessary
- Operate other equipment as directed
- Perform chemical analysis of process tanks
- Wear proper PPE follow facility safety regulations
- Must wear Metatarsal Shoes
- Maintain a safe and productive working environment
- Check and maintain inventory of required supplies
Required Qualifications
- The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
- Ability to work independently
- The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
- The ability to stand and/or walk for up to 80% of the time
- Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- One year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools
- One year of previous experience with forklift operations
- The ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety
Work Environment
Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, extreme heat, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic and caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.
