Job Overview:
Don Den's Sales is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Sales Representative to manage the buying and selling of 20ft and 40ft shipping containers. The ideal candidate will be personable, highly organized, and capable of managing container inventory, sales, and deliveries. While sales experience is a plus, it is not required—we are looking for someone who excels at working with people and can efficiently handle logistics and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a seasonal job Starting in Spring and ending in the fall/winter when the snow flies.
- Sales & Customer Service
- Assist walk-in customers and respond to phone inquiries regarding container sales.
- Educate customers on container conditions, pricing, and delivery options.
- Process sales transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Inventory Management
- Track and maintain inventory of up to 100 containers on-site.
- Inspect incoming containers for damage or cleaning needs.
- Ensure containers are organized and accessible on the lot.
- Logistics & Scheduling
- Coordinate the receiving of containers from depots and ports.
- Schedule deliveries to customers within a 150-mile radius of Carlton.
- Supervise drivers responsible for loading, unloading, and delivering containers.
- Operations Oversight
- Physically open and close container doors when needed.
- Work closely with drivers and forklift operators to maintain efficiency.
- Ensure containers are in good condition before delivery.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working with customers in person and over the phone.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as opening and closing heavy container doors.
- Basic computer skills for tracking inventory and scheduling. Excel preferred.
- Must be reliable and able to work Saturdays (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM).
- Experience in logistics, scheduling, or container sales is a plus but not required.
Additional Opportunities:
Don Den's Sales is a small business with fewer than a dozen employees that also runs a separate business division specializing in in truck upfitting, logging trailer fabrication, and parts/service for trailers and dump trucks. If the candidate has knowledge/experience in these areas, there may be an opportunity for year-round employment as inside sales rep for parts & service in addition to container sales.
