Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor Continuing Education Department- Part-Time
Position Overview :
The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and training to students in accordance with the standards set by state and federal regulations, as well as the specific curriculum guidelines of the nursing assistant training program. The CNA Instructor will provide both theoretical knowledge and hands-on clinical skills training to prepare students for the CNA certification exam while fostering a suppo11ive, effective, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Instruction and Curriculum Delivery :
- Provide both classroom-based lectures and clinical lab-based instruction in all aspects of CNA training, including patient care, basic nursing skills, infection control, and documentation.
- Develop, implement, and update curriculum materials to meet state and federal guidelines for CNA programs.
- Evaluate and assess student progress through written exams, practical skills testing, and clinical evaluations.
- Ensure that all training content aligns with current best practices and state / national ce1ti : fication standards.
- Foster an interactive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, questions, and critical thinking.
Student Support and Assessment :
Provide regular feedback on student performance and assist with remediation when necessary.Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and progress reports.Assist students in preparing for the CNA state ce1tification exam by reviewing key concepts and clinical procedures.Support and guide students through challenges and concerns related to both coursework and clinical placements.Clinical Skills Supervision :
Oversee and supervise students in clinical settings, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, patient care standards, and ethical guidelines.Monitor students during hands-on training and provide constructive feedback to enhance skill development.Collaborate with healthcare facilities and clinical staff to ensure appropriate clinical placement opportunities for students.Qualifications : Education and Experience :
Required :Current, active license as an LVN or RN.
Minimum one (I) year of direct nursing experience at a long-term facility as an LVN or RN.Previous teaching or training experience preferred, though not required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong understanding of nursing assistant skills, healthcare procedures, and patient care protocols.Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing CNA education and ce1tification.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and healthcare professionals.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation, grading, and repo1ting.Ability to evaluate student pe1formance objectively and fairly.Comfo1t and proficiency with technology, including online learning platforms and educational tools.Physical Demands :
Ability to stand for extended periods, move between classrooms, and assist students in clinical settings.Must be able to perform and demonstrate physical tasks associated with nursing assistant duties, such as lifting, transferring patients, and demonstrating patient care techniques.How to Apply (each of these four items must be completed)
