General Description
The purpose of this class is to provide a wide range of Human Resources services, information, and assistance to Elected Officials, department heads, supervisors, employees, and outside agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the class's type of work as necessary.
Provides top-level customer service and communication to all employees and retires in person, by phone, or electronically.
Ensures employee records and files are maintained and up to date.
Enters data for payroll and benefits.
Conducts traffic violation and criminal background checks as well as pre-employment testing, including drug testing, physical, TB skin tests, and cholinesterase tests dependent on position.
Responds to benefit inquiries to ensure quick and courteous resolutions
Assists with new hire orientation process, benefit explanation, overview, and enrollment assistance.
May assist with material development and define the county’s hiring policies, benefit programs, and employment opportunities.
Performs other related work as assigned.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in a corresponding field preferred.
Requires two years of experience in human resources, employee relations, or closely related functions.
Experience working with at least one complex human resources information system (HRIS) is necessary. Workday Experience preferred.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
