Job Summary
To provide technical assistance on behalf of the Galveston County Office of Information Technology to Galveston County law enforcement, public safety, and the Galveston County Public Safety Consortium agencies.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.Serves as first level technical support for all Police Records, Computer-Aided Dispatch, Jail Records systems and all integrated software, line of business applications, services and desktop applications on behalf of the OIT for all public safety-related departments, including but not limited to Genetec digital evidence, WatchGuard, body cameras, access control, and vehicle technology equipment.
Utilizes top-level customer service skills while performing remote or onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users, and recommending and implementing corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed.?
Maintain system technical documentation, changes, and modifications.
Assists in maintaining County public safety communications radios and systems.
Fields incoming problem tickets from end users. Performs hands-on fixes at both the desktop and application level, including installing, configuring, and upgrading software and hardware. Escalates to internal advanced support as needed.
Works with other divisions within the Office of Information Technology and within departmental policy to provide support to all public safety-related agencies.
Provides support to public safety agencies during planned and unplanned events.
Perform related work as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent.?
Requires one year of IT support experience or closely related experience.??

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
The work is performed both sitting at a desk or table and walking, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects. Travel between offices is required.

Special Certifications and Licenses:
Requires JIS/FBI Awareness Training Level 4 and FEMA ICS100 Introduction to Incident Command System.
Valid TX Driver’s License
Must maintain CJIS compliance
