What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Maintenance Worker position at Galveston County?
The purpose of this class is to assist in the maintenance of county parks facilities.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Operates a truck with trailer to transport personnel and equipment.
Cleans park restrooms.
Picks up trash; empties trash barrels; cleans grills and tables.
Inspects benches and tables.
Maintains park lawns and landscaping; mows, edges and trims grass; prunes trees and shrubs.
Maintains and services equipment.
Provides information and assistance to park patrons.
Installs park signage.
Performs related work as assigned.
Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Requires six months of experience operating small engine equipment or closely related experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
