Game Development Engineering Intern (Unreal Engine)

The successful candidate will contribute heavily to the simulation efforts of the Warfighter Systems Integration Lab by writing Unreal Engine 5 individual blueprints, materials or assets in general, and by optimizing overall engine functions to improve the spatial and temporal resolution of the simulation.

This is a paid internship and has a start date of mid-May and ends in mid-late August 2025.

About the role - you'll need to:

• Design Blueprints, Materials, Levels or generic assets for VR in UE5
• Test and debug features
• Explore and improve overall settings of the engine to optimize performance.
• Produce documentation for replicability.
• Come up with algorithms for data collection and visualization.
• Integrate external services in python or other convenient languages.
• Work closely with electrical and systems engineers

About you - you'll need:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science etc. (second year or more)
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5
• Understanding of Lighting, performance and other engine features.
• Familiarity with blueprint programming.

• Comfortable working with fire weapon replicas and combat simulation
