PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES
Performs and documents incoming, in process, and finished goods inspections per inspection instructions based on ANSI sampling plans and quality directives. Identify improvement opportunities and assist in efforts to mitigate or eliminate identified issues. This position ensures that inspections are thorough and accurate, timelines are met, and results are well documented and reported in the appropriate format.
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review findings with members of the production team, the quality lead, and other inspectors.
- Participate in problem solving and quality improvement teams.
Perform inspection on incoming materials per inspection instructions.
- Determine incoming inspection sample criteria.
- Record results of incoming inspections in SyteLine and Inspection folders.
- Perform in-process inspection on semi-finished products, document results as appropriate.
- Complete Non-Conforming Reports as required.
- Release components tested per processes and procedures from incoming inspection.
- Evaluate results of product tests and inspections for compliancy.
- Apply and review AII/ACP documents per drawing requirements.
- Understand the use of calibrated equipment and calibration dates.
- Also, further evaluate passing product for aberrations or trends that may lead to failure in the future and notify management as needed.
- Perform finished product inspections per product or customer criteria.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all inspection & test results and ensure proper paperwork is filed.
- Record finished product inspection results and share failing results.
- Perform Document Control duties, including updating and reviewing all facility-level documents, including Work Instructions.
- Provide recommendations for improving the quality of process and components.
- Ensure that all duties are performed in a timely manner consistent with applicable quality, safety guidelines and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements
- Experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality Control is preferred.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent applicable work experience is a plus.
- Computer literate, proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook specifically) and evaluated via proficiency test.
- Position requires a person who is meticulous and quality conscious, motivated and creative problem solver.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Fast learner with excellent time management skills.
- Possess creative problem-solving skill with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Understanding of ISO process, familiarity with ISO9001 certification and compliance required.
- Willingness to learn new jobs, testing methods and techniques.
- Must be adaptable to rapidly shifting priorities and testing schedules.
- Ability to utilize standard measuring devices for quality inspections required and evaluated via proficiency test.
Work environment
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds required.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Use of eye protection required.
- Some travel may be required between Galvion facilities.
