THE OPPORTUNITY
The Receiving Coordinator oversees the accurate accounting and documentation of goods received. They are responsible for inspecting shipments, resolving discrepancies and coordinating the efficient storage and retrieval of inventory. Their tasks involve maintaining inventory records and collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt of incoming shipments and verify the quality and quantity of products.
- Document all received products and update inventory systems.
- Ensure materials are properly marked with relevant information (part number, quantity, and date received).
- Collaborate with departments like purchasing and production to ensure smooth material flow.
- Coordinate incoming shipments, unload trucks, check in merchandise, match purchase orders to sales orders, and generate daily Receiving Reports.
- Process incoming materials accurately within a 48-hour timeframe (e.g., rejected materials, quality support, cycle count requests, and sales samples).
- Sort and place materials or items in bins, racks, or shelves following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures, under Warehouse Team Lead guidance.
- Ensure the warehouse is safe and accessible for both employees and customers.
- Open containers (bales, crates, etc.) and record material amounts using appropriate programs or paperwork.
- Perform cycle counts and maintain a well-organized warehouse and work area.
- Generate daily reports on incoming shipments and material issues.
- Wear proper safety equipment and operate forklifts safely.
- Adhere to 5S standards and company policies/procedures.
- Assist Material/Production Teams in achieving company objectives.
- Assist Shipping Team in achieving goals
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Follow company policy and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements
· Forklift operator license preferred; training will be provided.
· High school diploma or GED required.
· At least 6 months of related experience or training, or equivalent education and experience.
· Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Strong numerical skills and legible handwriting.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks.
· Military experience is a plus.
Work environment
· Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate (talk or hear).
· Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· Must regularly lift and move up to 20 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
· Primarily works in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
